چکیده

We propose a new multi-target tracking approach, which is able to reliably track multiple objects even with poor segmentation results due to noisy environments. The approach takes advantage of a new dual object model combining 2D and 3D features through reliability measures. In order to obtain these 3D features, a new classifier associates an object class label to each moving region (e.g. person, vehicle), a parallelepiped model and visual reliability measures of its attributes. These reliability measures allow to properly weight the contribution of noisy, erroneous or false data in order to better maintain the integrity of the object dynamics model. Then, a new multitarget tracking algorithm uses these object descriptions to generate tracking hypotheses about the objects moving in the scene. This tracking approach is able to manage many-to-many visual target correspondences. For achieving this characteristic, the algorithm takes advantage of 3D models for merging dissociated visual evidence (moving regions) potentially corresponding to the same real object, according to previously obtained information. The tracking approach has been validated using video surveillance benchmarks publicly accessible. The obtained performance is real time and the results are competitive compared with other tracking algorithms, with minimal (or null) reconfiguration effort between different videos.

Lens Model Selection for a Markerless AR Tracking System

This paper describes a visual markerless real-time tracking system for Augmented Reality applications. The system uses a firewire camera with a fisheye lens mounted at 10 fps. Visual tracking of 3D scene points is performed simultaneously with 3D camera pose estimation without any prior scene knowledge. All visual-geometric data is acquired using a structure-from-motion approach. The lens selec...

Online Feature Selection Using Mutual Information for Real-Time Multi-view Object Tracking

It has been shown that features can be selected adaptively for object tracking in changing environments [1]. We propose to use the variance of Mutual Information [2] for online feature selection to acquire reliable features for tracking by making use of the images of the tracked object in previous frames to refine our model so that the refined model after online feature selection becomes more r...

Designing, validation, and reliability assessment of software to acquire kinematics parameters of motion by image processing

Motion analysis systems are useful and effective equipment in biomechanics research. Unfortunately these systems are available for few researchers because these are expensive equipment. The aim of this study was to design and validation of a practical and inexpensive software, to determine the exact markers position in space and compute the kinematic of movement. In designing the software, the ...

Robust Real-Time Visual Tracking using a 2D-3D Model-based Approach

We present an original method for tracking, in an image sequence, complex objects which can be approximately modeled by a polyhedral shape. The approach relies on the estimation of the 2D object image motion along with the computation of the 3D object pose. The proposed method fulfills real-time constraints along with reliability and robustness requirements. Real tracking experiments and result...

A relaxation algorithm for real-time multiple view 3D-tracking

In this paper we address the problem of reliable real-time 3D-tracking of multiple objects which are observed in multiple wide-baseline camera views. Establishing the spatio-temporal correspondence is a problem with combinatorial complexity in the number of objects and views. In addition vision based tracking suffers from the ambiguities introduced by occlusion, clutter and irregular 3D motion....
